Hello family! This week has been a doozie. It started out really rough, but that doesn't matter too much. On Saturday I finally got my wish and was released as an Assistant. President still wanted me to be a Zone Leader so I came out to Sugar City to be a ZL here. Sugar City is really close to Rexburg. My new companions name is Elder Slade and he is awesome! He loves Brandon Sanderson and is super diligent and a great teacher! I've got to teach 9 lessons in the last 2 days!! Things are going a lot better.    Honestly, there isn't too much else to report on, so I'll just share something I was thinking about this week. I heard a talk once, where the speaker was talking about trials. They said, "The only difference between a stepping stone and a stumbling block is how high you lift your foot." That single line has stuck with me so much since then. I think that oftentimes in our lives we view our trials as stumbling blocks. They are barriers in ...

Elder Trezise and Elder Manu All ready to venture out Elder Trezise and Elder Manu These past few weeks have been incredibly hard for Elder Trezise.  He finally told me that he is really struggling with his companion.  He was able to meet with the mission counselor and asked his mission president if he could be released as AP.  He refused to tell his mission president of the struggles he is having with his companion.  I sent the mission president a short email explaining that he needed to talk to Elder Trezise.  Well...the mission president called me and we had a conversation.  I'm worried Elder Trezise is going to be upset that I spoke with the president.  I look forward to talking to him tomorrow.  Here is his letter from Monday: Hi family!  As you know from talking to me, this week has been a really hard one. Honestly, probably the hardest of my mission. It was rough watching Elder Manu go home. But I don't want to...

Elder Legas (now home) facetiming with Elder Trezise and Elder Garrison Notes that Elder Garrison made regarding pride Letter for the week: Hi family! This week was really good! I'm trying to remember everything that happened, haha. It was very eventful. I hope you all had the chance to watch General Conference. And I hope you all went in to conference with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, ready and willing to learn what it is the Lord needed you to learn. I know personally I felt so much hope. I felt so much peace. I don't think I necessarily felt anxious or afraid before the conference, but I know that how I feel now is different. I am so confident and sure that things are going to be okay. I hope that y'all can feel the peace that the Gospel brings.  I invite each of you to reflect on the Conference. Look back at your favorite talk and listen to it again. Why was it your favorite? What stuck out? What made it different for you? I also...

Gorgeous Idaho Elder Findlay and Elder Trezise Elder Findlay and Elder Trezise Elder Trezise and Bishop Carvajal (he stayed in this Bishop's basement in his first area in Idaho Falls Elder Trezise & Elder Woods (Elder Woods has been home a year  - not sure why he came back -he was Elder Trezise's AP and zone leader in Shelley)  I love being able to speak with Elder Trezise two times a week.  He had some struggles this week with disobedient missionaries and I was so impressed on how he dealt with them.  He is a wonderful example to me.  Here is his letter for the week: Hello family!  This week was CRAZY. I'm gonna give you a run through of what it looked like.    Monday: P-day. From 6-9 was a bunch of paperwork at the office.  Tuesday: Elder Garrison joined us and we continued working on paperwork, and started working on transfers. Most of the day was scheduling things and booking flights for the depart...

Elder Trezise and Elder Legas HELLO FAMILY!!! For those of you who don't know, as of Thursday we have been quarantined in our apartments. The whole mission is kind of on lockdown. We can leave to exercise, or to go on a 40 minute walk, but otherwise we are stuck inside. It's kinda the worst. However, I know not to dwell on the negative, so I have been focusing on the good. And some cool things that have been good about this are; I am learning more self-control. I am surrounded by food 24/7. So I'm really learning how to eat healthy, and minimally. Also, I have really learned how to use my time. With so much time to sit inside I often ask myself, "Am I being effective? Am I being productive?" This has helped me to really focus on improving all the time. So that's pretty awesome. I hope by the end of this I'll be able to use technology in a way that is beneficial to the church. Well, I've been using it in beneficial ways already, but I me...
