I love being able to speak with Elder Trezise two times a week. He had some struggles this week with disobedient missionaries and I was so impressed on how he dealt with them. He is a wonderful example to me. Here is his letter for the week:
Hello family!
This week was CRAZY. I'm gonna give you a run through of what it looked like.
Monday: P-day. From 6-9 was a bunch of paperwork at the office.
Tuesday:
Elder Garrison joined us and we continued working on paperwork, and
started working on transfers. Most of the day was scheduling things and
booking flights for the departing missionaries.
Wednesday:
Woke up at 4, took everyone to the airport, said goodbye to Elder
Meyers, and got back to work. We worked on transfers for a while and
then took some more missionaries to the airport. After that we welcomed
10 new missionaries into the mission, and showed them around a little.
We met with president and assigned them trainers, then did an
orientation. The Governor decided to put Idaho on Shelter and Stay, so
we knew if we were going to have transfers it would have to be super
soon, and really small... so... he decided to do transfers the next day,
and have everyone meet up with their new comps at different locations.
We stayed up until midnight finalizing the details for that.
Thursday:
Woke up at 4, dropped off more departing missionaries, then went to the
office. Finished up the details for transfers, and sent it out. Then
got to work on the behind the scenes paperwork for transfers. Some
missionaries needed help out in Rigby, so we drove out there, and then
took an hour long drive out to Terreton from there. Terreton was
gorgeous. We drove back down and helped make sure all the new
missionaries were settled, and the next departing group knew the info
they needed.
Friday: Woke up at 4 to take more missionaries
to the airport. Finished up transfer paperwork, then dropped off Elder
Findlay at the airport. That one hurt. He was the only one that I cried
for. It was really sad. Got back to work, and started working on details
for the firesides we do as a mission, and the devotionals we have as a
mission. Finished that, and got home in time to go to bed around 10:15.
It was nice.
Saturday: We thought it would be a normal day,
but we had to drive down to Shelley, then Blackfoot, then up again. We
had to move some missionaries around because we found out we will soon
be losing Elder Perrett. He's from Australia, and is one AMAZING
missionary. I'm going to cry when he leaves too. We got some proselyting
time in during the afternoon, then had some more paperwork heaped on us
that evening.
Sunday: Normal day. It was awesome. And by normal I mean we were quarantined... but still.
So
yep. This week FLEEEEWWWW by. It was crazy. I learned that we need to
rely on the Lord in everything that we do, and to trust Him. He knows a
lot more than us. Overall it was a great week, and I'm excited to learn
how to use technology to bring people to Christ. It's a lot harder than
going out there and talking to people, but it's possible, and we've seen
some cool miracles already.
Don't freak out too much, don't
focus on things you can't control. Just focus on coming closer to Christ
everyday, and don't sweat the stuff that's out of reach.
I love each of you so much and am so grateful for your support. Y'all are amazing!
-Elder Trezise
