Today was Elder Trezise's 20th birthday! Happy birthday Elder Trezise! Here is his email:
Hello family!!! First off, thank all of you so much for
the emails and messages! They meant a lot to me! This week was
AWESOME!!! To recap;
Tuesday: We found our keys! We had an exchange
with one of the District Leaders and he literally walked outside and
found them in like 10 seconds. And I swear they were 100% not there the
day before. God just needed the right person to find them. The rest of
the day went well, and most of it was spent preparing for Zone
Conference the next day.
Wednesday: We had Zone Conference!
It was AWESOME! Elder Clayton of the 70 came. And he shared a bunch of
stories about the Apostles and about President Nelson. He meets with
them multiple times a month! He gave some training that was very
inspiring! At the conclusion of the 6 hour meeting, President Hurley
came up to me and asked to talk to me. He pulled me aside and asked if
he, along with Elder and Sister Clayton could go out teaching with us
that night. We met up around 7 and went to a lesson with someone we have
on date. It was amazing!!! The Spirit was so strong!
Thursday:
MLC (Mission Leadership Council) day. Another long 5 hour meeting, but
again, it was very rewarding. Elder Clayton instructed us on how to
become better teachers, and the demonstrations he gave were amazing! He
is such a spiritual man. He also had Elder Brazier and I role play in
front of the whole MLC and it was pretty cool to teach with my son
again! :)
Friday: I went with Elder Howell's and Palmer on
exchanges. Those guys are a lot of fun. Elder Palmer is likely going to
be a Zone Leader next transfer, so I helped him get a little more
prepared. The day flew by, and we had some AWESOME conversations and
contacts. I love how nice people are around Christmas time.
Saturday:
Exchanges with Elder Cano. It was so much fun! He's super similar to
Elder Legas. They actually knew each other growing up, so that's super
cool! We goofed and worked and had fun the whole day. To be effective we
sort of worked through lunch and dinner. We ate dinner, it was just
while making a training plan for the mission. It was a ton of fun. There
was an emergency that night and Elder Legas, Elder Cano and I drove to
take care of it.
Sunday: I went on mini exchanges with Elder
Legas and we got a lot done. It was a lot of fun. We had 11 non members
at Sacrament, and we ended up finding 2 new people to teach in the last
contact of the day!!! It was AWESOME!
Anyways, that's how this
week was. It was a really fast and busy week. We're all hoping this
week will be a little calmer. I'm just so grateful to be out here. I am
learning and growing so much! I have seen myself change and it has just
been amazing! The Spirit is so strong, and the joy I feel is so real.
Sometimes it gets hard. Sometimes I hang my head down. And every time I
do, something happens. The Lord sends a tender mercy to cheer me up. He
sends something to help me. I can think of 5 distinct times this week,
and I'm sure there were many more. But my favorite was yesterday morning
I was with Elder Legas, and we were counseling on something I'm
struggling with. I expressed my doubts, my concerns, and my fears. And
immediately after I got an email from Max, and then Dad. It was so fast.
And when I checked later, I saw that the 2 emails were actually sent at
different times, but I got them at the same time. And that was the time
that I needed it the most. It was amazing. I hope you all see the hand
of God in your lives. I hope when life gets hard, and you are tempted to
hang your head down, that you keep an eye out for His influence. I hope
you keep your ears open to hear His voice. Don't let the adversary win.
"God is anxiously waiting to answer your prayers and to fulfill your
dreams. But He can't if you don't pray. And He can't if you don't dream.
In short, He can't, if you don't believe."
I love you all so
much. You are some amazing men and women who inspire me to become
better each and every day! Keep pushing, and keep trying, and know that
you are loved by me, by so many others, and most especially by your
Savior, and your God. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
