Here is Elder Trezise's letter for the week:

Hi family!
Sorry that everyone is getting the virus. I'll make sure to keep you guys in my prayers. This week was pretty eventful as far as quarantine goes. Lots of teaching, as per usual, but on Friday I had MLC. It went pretty well, and there was a lot of good counseling. During it I realized something...

We are each here on earth for the sole purpose of helping one another. Of learning to work together. God can provide anything and everything for us, but He chooses not to. And He chooses not to because He wants us to help each other. To support each other. To be honest it's a pretty big responsibility as well. Think of how much is placed on our shoulders. The lives of God's children, the magnitude of His 'work and glory' is put on us. And, if we'll allow it, it'll transform us. It'll help us more than we ever can help anyone else. That's the heavenly paradox, isn't it. Saving others is the only way to save ourselves. I've been out here for a while. It's made abundantly clear every day. At MLC President showed a picture of "the old MLC", and talked about the legacy those missionaries left on the mission. Elder Oringdulph and I were the only 2 other people in the room who were in the picture. But no matter how long I've been out it never ceases to amaze me how important missionary work is. How vital it is. It has become a part of my life. A part of the way I think. Thoughts often cross my mind of, "how can I help someone around me feel the Savior's influence more?"

I know that you probably view missionary work as, "for the missionaries." It's hard not to view it that way when it literally has the word missionary in it. So I invite you to view missionary work as, "the work of salvation." That's what it is really. And who doesn't want to participate in saving souls? It's amazing how much joy you can feel, and how you can feel the Savior change you. You can feel the Atonement change you. It's so incredible to feel that change. It's a process for sure, but a process that's worth it. I used to get feelings of uselessness, of helplessness, and despair. I'd look in the mirror and wonder what the point of life actually was. I'd go to bed at night wondering how much would change if I didn't get up the next morning. I know that's sad to think about, but I believe each of us has thoughts like that sometimes. "Do I really make a difference in the world?" YES! Absolutely yes! You're a child of God, with divine potential flowing through your veins. You have the ability, and the capability of literally saving souls. And saving your own in the process. This work, the work of salvation, brings you purpose. Brings you peace. Brings you joy. Despite everything going on around you, you can be happy. You can thrive! I love this Gospel so much, I love my Savior so much. I want others to feel that love. I want others to feel that purpose.

So if life is a little tough right now, or things are "looking down", make a change. Stand up and join the Lord's battalion. Be one of His finest soldiers. And help bring salvation to those around you. I love each of you and pray for you daily. And plead with you to try to be the person God wants you to be.
