This week's email from Elder Trezise was short and sweet.   His good friend Ian Wanlass had received his mission call to Argentina so that was exciting.

Yeah, I'm super excited for Ian. He'll love being a missionary! Yeah, we came skype into lessons of friends back home. There's a missionary in our mission who taught his brother and got to see him baptized! It's awesome. I'm hoping to get Jayce to meet with the missionaries soon. We'll see. Just pray that he will be ready.
You'll love Oathbringer... trust me. But it is super stressful, just a heads up. And Dalinar is waaaaaaaaay different than who he used to be. I miss my dog. It's the highlight of calling home each week, ha, got em. He's the best.

My favorite President Ballard talk is called 'The Greatest Generation of Missionaries' and it is straight fire. He has such an amazing testimony.

I have really been struggling these last few weeks with staying motivated, but I know that if I just keep being obedient it'll come. We re-dedicated ourselves after Zone Conference and I made some changes, and have been working harder than ever. These last few days have been some of the best in my mission. It's awesome. I know that this Gospel offers peace when things get hard. I know it offers solace in our times of difficulty. I have felt the song of redeeming love that Alma spoke of. I have gained a testimony of the truth, and even when things get hard, I will never deny that testimony. I have made a promise to God and to myself to be obedient. And I WILL be obedient. Even when it's hard. I know it's hard sometimes to read daily, or to go to church, or to do whatever. But God WILL bless our obedient efforts. Luke 17:12-19 talks about the lepers being cleansed. I love verse 14 and 19. In 14 it talks about as they walked, they were cleansed. Sometimes we will view something far off and say, "if I can get there my testimony will grow." But what we don't realize is that the testimony grows AS we work for that goal. Not WHEN we get to it. And in 19, the leper who turned back and gave thanks is told, "thy faith hath made thee whole." What do we do with the testimony we have? We gain the testimony as we are obedient, yes. But we grow the testimony, we retain the knowledge as we act on it. As we give thanks to God and to Christ. As we turn to Him. What we do depends on how we feel about what we know. What do we know? How do we feel about it? Because how we feel about what we know will determine what we do. In basic terms, I know this church is true. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he saw the Father and the Son. I feel very strongly about this knowledge. I have a desire to bring others to the truth. And because of that, I have chosen to go, and to DO. I have chosen to act, to retain this testimony. I have chosen to do based on how I feel about what I know. ]

Thank you for the quote on Charity. I really needed it. I am working really hard to be more loving and kind. I love you guys, and hope you have a great week. And I want to challenge you ALL to watch every session of Conference, and pay attention. You may think it's boring, but I promise that as you're obedient, God will speak something to your soul through one of His Apostles. I promise you He will.
