Dec. 17, 2018
I don't know much about what is going on in these pics because although Elder Trezise sent them on Dec. 17 - he said they were old. Here is his letter:
Hey, sorry it took so long to email. Today has been insane! But good. Anyway, we got transfer calls last night, and Elder Nelson and I are both staying, so I'm excited. Elder Nelson and I are getting along well, and we really didn't want to get transferred. We thought Elder Robinette would for sure, but he didn't either! It's awesome! We're really excited! I would be fine seeing the Wanlass' family, but they'd have to find me, cuz I'm not seeking them out, haha! I saw Kim's ginderbread house, and actually complemented her on it today! It was awesome! I'm really sorry that no one would go with you to the ward party. I've had 4 in the past 2 weeks, and they're awesome! We shared our testimonies of Christ during them, and it was cool.
There's
actually a family we are teaching (the girls we baptized), where the 2
olders ones are teens, but the youngest is 11. But she is the most
involved, and is holding the family together, and was sad she wouldn't
get to go with her sisters to the temple. It seemed like that
announcement was just for her! She is ecstatic!
I miss my puppy so much.
I
got the package from amazon, it's perfect, thank you! I don't need
anything from the Wanlass', and I love alll of you a lot. I'll for sure
video chat before Xan works. I am short on time right now, but a lot
happened this week, and I'm gonna try to fit it in.
On my
birthday, there is a guy who just got back from his mission in Bolivia,
and is awesome, and he was giving his homecoming talk, about missionary
work. It was inspiring and incredible. He talked about how, even though
we may not be wearing the name tags, we are ALL missionaries. We are ALL
disciples of Christ. I loved the talk a lot. He cried, and bore
testimony, and it was really spiritual. We had dinner last night with
one of my favorite families, and one of our investigators. It was really
great. I had a great birthday. I didn't want anyone to know it was my
birthday, but Elder Nelson is a walking advertisement.
The
new youth music came out, and we can listen to youth music, and usually
it's just okay, but this one was really good. There's a song, Footsteps,
that's really spiritual. The lyrics are amazing, it goes, "You hear a
voice inside your soul, it beckons to you, it echoes through you. You're
scared to pass to the unknown, your strength is fading, your thoughts
are racing. But something, something pulls you forward, there's a light
inside you, yearning for more. Step into the dark, and don't be afraid,
every star in the heavens is lighting your way. If you feel like you're
lost, you're not alone, just follow His footsteps, and He'll lead you
home. Your hope is stronger than your fear, it's growing brighter,
you're getting stronger. You know now that you can't stay here, your
heart is burning, a prayerful yearning. For something, something in the
distance, He will lift you up to where you belong. Step
into the dark, and don't be afraid, every star in the heavens is
lighting your way. If you feel like you're lost, you're not alone, just
follow His footsteps, and He'll lead you home. And with every step,
He'll ease your pain. With every heartbeat, you'll feel a change. He's
beckoning to you, calling your name. Step
into the dark, and don't be afraid, every star in the heavens is
lighting your way. If you feel like you're lost, you're not alone, just
follow His footsteps, and He'll lead you home." It is really great. The
Savior paved the way for us. He put the footprints there. It's up to us
to use our agency to follow Him. It's up to us to choose salvation and
eternal life, or captivity and death. I love my Savior. I love serving
Him. I am striving to follow His example daily. And I know that if you
do the same thing, that you will find peace and joy. Seth, the returned
missionary who spoke on Sunday said that it is our job to bear testimony
of the Atonement. The Atonement is the single most important event in
history. Without it, there would be no hope of returning to God again.
There would be no plan of salvation, and there would be no point to
life. The Atonement is what pulls me forward everyday. Christ is my
rock, my foundation. He knows what I've been through, and He knows how
to heal me. He knows how to heal all of us. Turn to Him. Trust in Him.
He will help more than we think He can.
I'm sorry I didn't have a ton of time to email today. I love you guys so much!
-Elder Trezise
