Elder Trezise's letter:

It is not that chilly.  My companion thinks I'm crazy cuz I'm from Arizona and everyone here is wearing jacket ad stuff and I usually wander around in a short sleeved shirt.  CONFERENCE WAS AWESOME.  I had heard a lot about the 2 hour block recently, and figured that, as well as the Tabernacle Choir name change.  The talk you're thinking of is M. Joseph Brough.  I recorded my feelings from every talk in conference, and the notes take up 26 full pages.  So if you want what I wrote from any talk, just ask.  I really loved Elder Bednar's and President Oaks in the Saturday morning session, and Paul B Pieper and Elder Uchtdorf's in the Saturday afternoon session.  The Sunday morning session I absolutely LOVED Elder Holland's and President Nelson's.  I know that President Nelson is the prophet today, and I have a personal testimony of him and know he was meant to be a prophet in this dispensation.  I would not be surprised if Elder Holland became a prophet as well.  He speaks with so much power and authority, and invites the Spirit in every talk.  There are some songs we listen to here, I think I mentioned them before, the Apostle quote song, and the Apostle testimony song.  Elder Holland's is my favorite part in both, although Elder Bednar is a close second.  But I will try to record exactly what he says and send it to you.  It is awesome.  In the Sunday afternoon session I really loved Elder Gay's talk.  He really invited the Spirit in his talk in conference.  I think President Nelson closed with a truly important topic.  Temples.  Temples are essential to our eternal salvation, and it was very wise of him to reiterate their importance before closing conference.

I am used to driving now.  Day to day life is pretty cool.  Sundays and Mondays are of course different, but we usually wake up at 6:30 and then exercise around 7:10.  We then shower and eat breakfast, and then do personal study for an hour, and study as a companionship for an hour.  Elder Nelson gives me a little training, and then we plan for our day.  We then jump out around 10:30 or so.  We then usually meet with less active members, or if we had lessons with investigators, we teach them.  We eat lunch from 12-12:30 and then go try to contact some of our investigators, or less active members in the afternoon.  We eat dinner around 5-6, and then usually the bulk of the lessons we teach are in the evenings.  If we don't have lessons, however, we go meet members in our wards.  It's hard to keep track of everything.  We are back home by 9:15, and get ready for bed, write in our journal, and go to bed at 10:30.  We have a goal to meet and talk to 20 new people daily, and it is tough, but keeps us engaged.  Elder Nelson doesn't love football, but he is hilarious and very smart.  He loves Minnesota and loves that I love the Vikings, even though he doesn't care for football.

I don't need anything, package wise.  I'm good.  I think getting a new dog would be cool.  We met a family the other day with a white terrier dog, and he is EXACTLY LIKE OLLIE.  He looks very similar to Ollie and he does the half bark think where he knows he's supposed to be quiet but goes, "ruf".  He also puts his head up on stuff and goes "grrrrr" quietly when he hears something he doesn't like  It's uncanny how similar to Ollie he was.

Anyway, love you and the family so much!  Miss you guys!

Elder Trezise wrote us another short email later that day (in response to an email I wrote back to him)

It's funny, I wasn't sure how to get gas, or shop, or do laundry, but I didn't need help with any of it.  At the MTC, many people came to me, asking for help on how to do laundry, because I just somehow knew exactly what to do.  I have had plenty of different burgers and sandwiches as well since getting here, and they are good.  There is a quote by Jeffery R Holland during the Apostle Testimony song I was talking about, where he says, "What once was a little seed of faith for me has grown into the Tree of Life.  So if your faith is waning, I invite you lean on mine."  The Apostles and Prophets on Earth today are here to help us through times of difficulty.  But just by simply listening to their words, we won't change.  We must take action.  James 2:17-18 teach that faith without works is dead.  We CANNOT simply have faith and believe that is enough.  We must get out there and teach.   We must show our love.  In the Apostle quote song, Elder Holland says, "This is a LIFE and DEATH contest we're in here.  So I'm gonna get in your face.  Nose to nose, just enough fire to singe your eyebrows a little.  The way coaches do, when the game is close, and victory means everything.  I need someone to feed my sheep and save my lambs.  I need someone to preach my gospel and defend my faith.  I need someone who loves me.  Truly, truly loves me."  I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve a mission, and show my love for my Savior.  I am so grateful for the chance I have to feed His sheep, save His lambs, preach His gospel, and defend His faith.  Thank you so much for your love and support.  I love you but I have to go now.  I hope you have a good week, and I'll talk to you next Monday.

And then I kept emailing him back so he sent me another email :)

It's pretty cool if you don't let it be a distraction (this is a statement in regards to me asking if he was on Facebook) I am having so much fun here.  Everybody is waaaay too nice.  Earlier today Elder Nelson, Robinette, Dutson and I were eating at a really good restaurant called Snake Bite and we all ordered $13 burgers.  When we were ready to pay the waitress told us that someone had already paid for our ticket and we could leave.  I have been paid for and given money at a few other places, but this was a $50 check!  It is really incredible for me to see how loving people are.  I can really feel the love of everyone around me, and hope they can feel my love for them as well.  More than this, I hope they can feel the Lord's love.  This Thursday night we had the opportunity to teach a family at the temple visitor's center.  We decided to teach about prophets, since general conference was coming up.  In the visitor center there is a large statue of Jesus Christ.  You can play His voice, which is a recording that says some of His teachings.  It talks about His love for us, and how He wants us to love one another.  We played this recording for the family  The father is a smoking addict and a member of the church.  His three daughters are old enough to be baptized, but are not members and haven't been baptized.  He is trying to stay clean so he can baptize his daughters.  At the end of the recording it says, "If ye love me, keep my commandments".  This father began to cry, knowing that he loves Christ, and Christ loves him.  He is trying so hard to be able to baptize his girls and we are so proud of him.  The lesson went very well.  But the thing I am most happy about is that he was able to feel the love that his Savior has for him.  If we remember that He loves us, then we can remain on the covenant path.  I hope that you as well as the rest of the family can feel God and Christ's love for you.
