Here is Elder Trezise's email for the week: Okay... First off, don't be one of those weird people who puts sweaters on dogs. No. I'm sorry this Christmas season has been really busy. I hope it gets better soon. I have never seen one of those Light the World vending machines, but they sound awesome. I still haven't had the chance to watch the devotional, because we could only watch it if an investigator was watching it. But hopefully I'll find time to see it. We have stake conference this week. I don't know if I've mentioned him in an email yet, but our stake president, President Baczuk is seriously amazing. He's like less than 40 years old, and has been a stake president, and bishop, and he is amazing. His talk was about trials and the atonement. He talked about a young family with a son and daughter. He said the son was an amazing man, and everyone loved him, including President Baczuk. This kid was so kind and loving and smart, and e...

Bowling for P-day Still not wearing a jacket Elder Trezise met this missionary and was so inspired by him - he went on his mission with almost no family support One of the AP's right before he went home.  Elder Trezise loved his talk in zone conference Here is Elder Trezise's email for the week: I had a really good week this week, and saw many miracles. On Monday we went bowling and I won, and it was super awesome. (That's not a miracle, it's just cool). But Wednesday we had Zone Conference, and it was really great. The AP's (Assistants to the President) gave a training on leaving our nets behind and focusing on our mission. It was the best training/lesson I have ever heard. Elder Davis, one of the AP's (he's the white guy in one of the pictures with me) is one of the most consecrated missionaries ever. He is super funny, and lighthearted, but EXACTLY obedient, and an incredible missionary. This is his last transfer, and he s...

Elder Trezise likes to show us that the cold doesn't bother him Elder Trezise and his companion, Elder Nelson - reactivated this dad and he was able to baptize his daughters Elder Trezise got sick because he refuses to wear his jacket Elder Trezise and his MTC companion - this is probably at a zone conference Elder Trezise and his MTC companion who is his favorite   Here is Elder Trezise's letter for the week: I'm doing much better this week. This week has been really hectic though. We had a ton of lessons, and three baptisms yesterday. So I haven't really had time to stop and be sick, haha. I miss my puppy :(. I am so sorry that Max has to go through this trial. If I could take it from him, I would. I listened to a talk this week, and I thought of Max during it. In part of the talk, the speaker says something along the lines of, "The world we live in today is the worst it has ever been. And I firmly believe that each of us, as me...

This week's emails were extremely difficult as it was right after Max's diagnosis.  I had emailed the mission home, just to give them a heads up and let them know that he would be a difficult thing for Elder Trezise to hear.  I am going to include my email to Elder Trezise first.  Here it is: *very important* Don’t read my email until you read Max’s. Hopefully he sent it 🙄 This week has been the hardest of my life. And really I didn’t think anything could be harder then sending you off for 2 years. On Wednesday Max was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He had been really thirsty for a few weeks. I jokingly told him “maybe you have diabetes”. Tuesday we went out to dinner for Evan’s birthday and I noticed that Max drank about 5 glasses of water. That night he came to me and said, “I think I need to go to the doctor. I’ve lost 7 lbs”. So the next day I took him and Evan (Evan had been complaining his ears hurt). The doctor did a urine test and sent us to the ER....

Elder Trezise's email for the week: People think it's getting cold here, but it's only like 30-40 degrees, so I'm doing good. I refuse to put on a long sleeve shirt on until it snows. Sorry to hear that things are stressful, I hope they get better soon. So we had to be inside on Halloween by 6 pm, cuz apparently people dress up like missionaries and do stupid stuff, so we couldn't be outside, to avoid suspicion. But the street I stay on, Pevero, is ridiculous with Halloween. Bishop Carvajal, the man who I'm staying with cooked 3 porks, a bunch of chicken and beef, and made chili, and nachos, and just gave them out for free. It is insane, and our next door neighbor, Bishop Roberts cooked hamburgers and hot dogs and gave those out for free. Pevero was packed full by 5:30 when we left. It was awesome. I have never seen so many trick or treaters on one street. I hope Ollie is doing good, I miss my little baby.  That wedding sounds cool, and I...

Pictures of Elder Trezise and some of his Zone goofing off at the Idaho Falls Temple.  He has a bandage on his wrist because he cut it in the MTC and it took a long time to heal because of the Idaho humidity.  Here is his letter for this week: Kim's package was awesome! I can definitely feel the love from all of you guys! I miss home a lot, and think about you guys, my friends, and my puppy all the time. Sometimes it's hard out here. You would think the hardest part is getting doors slammed in your face, being cursed at, and flipped off, but it's not. It's seeing the people you teach make commitments, and not keep them, and then wonder why they are struggling. When they keep the commitments they are so happy and I can see the Spirit surrounding them. I wish they could just see that the way to happiness is right in front of them. It's hard. And from all the emails, it seems like my friends are really struggling with college and living on their own. ...

So...Elder Trezise's p-day was supposed to be Oct. 22 (Monday) and I had waited all day to hear from him and started to really freak out and send him a lot of crazy emails when I still hadn't heard from him by 7 pm.  I finally got an email from him at 8 saying that he changed his p-day to Wednesday that week so he and his companion could go to the temple.  Whew...Here are some pics he sent. Elder Nelson Elder Trezise showing that the cold doesn't bother him (insert eye roll here) a painting in the Idaho Falls visitor center Idaho Falls Temple Elder Trezise and his district in front of the temple  Here is his letter from this week: I have eaten plenty of potatoes. They're okay. And I've had a lot of hamburgers. Also okay. They're no chicken, that's for sure. I did get your package! Thank you so much! It was awesome! The candy was gone within a day between Elder Nelson and I, and the balloons we gave to the VanOrdens. They're ...

No pictures this week, just a few emails.  Also Elder Trezise had given a talk in church.  I am going to post that first.  Here is his talk: Good morning brothers and sisters. I am so grateful to be here today. Some of you may have already met me, but for those who haven't; my name is Elder Trezise. I am from Chandler, Arizona, which is by the way is much hotter than this. I love this weather. And I have been out on my mission for about 2 and a half weeks. This is my first area, and I love it, and I love each of you. Today I am going to be talking to you all about a subject that I'm sure each of us, especially me, can improve on. Patience. Being patient isn't always easy. Well, that's an understatement. Being patient sometimes seems impossible. I grew up in a home with 3 brothers, and parents who both work. As you can imagine, our house was chaotic basically 24/7. There were fights, there was taunting, and arguments. There were all sorts of stressful s...

View of Idaho Falls Temple from the Visitors Center Statue outside of the temple Elder Nelson at Walmart Ben introduced his zone to Demon Baby misc picture Elder Trezise's letter: It is not that chilly.  My companion thinks I'm crazy cuz I'm from Arizona and everyone here is wearing jacket ad stuff and I usually wander around in a short sleeved shirt.  CONFERENCE WAS AWESOME.  I had heard a lot about the 2 hour block recently, and figured that, as well as the Tabernacle Choir name change.  The talk you're thinking of is M. Joseph Brough.  I recorded my feelings from every talk in conference, and the notes take up 26 full pages.  So if you want what I wrote from any talk, just ask.  I really loved Elder Bednar's and President Oaks in the Saturday morning session, and Paul B Pieper and Elder Uchtdorf's in the Saturday afternoon session.  The Sunday morning session I absolutely LOVED Elder Holland's and President Nelson's. ...
